Wall street after hours trading

The normal trading hours are known to be those that are between 9.00am and 4pm. After hours trading strangely enough, is to do with the buying and selling of stocks outwith such times. Eastern Standard Time matches potential buyers and sellers using electronic communication networks as opposed to a stock exchange. Crossing Session orders will be accepted beginning at 1:00 p.m. for continuous executions until 1:30 p.m. on these dates, and NYSE American Equities, NYSE Arca Equities, NYSE Chicago, and NYSE National late trading sessions will close at 5:00 pm.
