Most corporate bonds are rated by at least one of the major rating agencies. Fidelity offers both investment grade and non-investment grade bonds, which are classified according to their rating. When considering an investment in corporate bonds, remember that higher potential returns are typically associated with greater risk. AAA is the highest possible rating assigned to the bonds of an issuer by credit rating agencies such as Standard & Poor's and Fitch Ratings. In investment, the bond credit rating represents the credit worthiness of corporate or government bonds.It is not the same as an individual's credit score.The ratings are published by credit rating agencies and used by investment professionals to assess the likelihood the debt will be repaid.
